Thank you for your interest in adopting rats from Rattitos Rattery! We care deeply about each of ours rats and have a certain adoption process to ensure they find loving homes.

1. Read through our website! Read everything you can. We have an Instagram and a Facebook page, as well. This will help you learn about our rattery and what we do.

2. We really prefer adopters who have knowledge of the proper care for rats. If you don't know, for example, that rats can't be kept in fish tanks or hamster cages, you need to do some serious research before we will consider you as an adopter.

3. Email me or message our Facebook page with any questions you may have about our rats, our rattery, or general rat care.

4. Send in the adoption questionnaire! It must be approved before you are allowed to adopt any rats from Rattios Rattery. If you are approved, you'll be added to the approved adopters list and will be allowed to purchase rats from us.

5. READ OVER THE CONTRACT. It is very important that you understand what is on the contract and what you are agreeing to. I'm not having you sell your soul or anything, but I have to make sure my babies will be properly cared for and have documentation of that agreement.

6. If you are approved and their are also babies available, you'll be able to claim them first come, first serve. Rats will not be marked as "Sold" until the actual transaction has happened and all forms are filled out and signed. Until the meet up and transaction happens, rats will be marked as "Pending", but before they're marked as pending, you must pay the non-refundable deposit fee. You cannot claim rats that are pending for someone else unless it falls through and is put back up for sale.

7. Send half of the adoption fee to my PayPal for the deposit. This is to ensure you are serious about buying and you won't just back out on the day of the adoption. This is a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, meaning if you send it and then decide you don't want the rats anymore, you can't get it back.

8. Plan a meet up to pick up the rats. The meeting place needs to be PUBLIC in either Joplin, MO or Webb City, MO. The other half of the adoption fee is due during the meet up, as well as the signing of the contract. You can either print off 2 copies of the contract (one for me, one for you) or sign the contract digitally on my smartphone (I can email you a copy upon request). You must specify which option you prefer. If you fail to plan a meet up with me, the rat will be put back up for sale. If you ditch the meet up and leave me waiting for you, you will be blacklisted from Rattitos Rattery.

9. Make sure you bring a travel cage or some sort of safe containment for the rats to travel home in, as it will not be provided.

10. Enjoy your new babies, and PLEASE keep us updated! It is encouraged that our adopters share with us how the rats are doing, how they grow, and to ask us any questions they may have along the way!
